For Redemter Kibutha, aviation has been a lifelong passion. Although her professional journey initially led her through different areas, her dream of becoming an Aeronautical Services Engineer remained unwavering. Through the Scholarship, she embraced the opportunity to take a significant step forward, demonstrating how dedication and the right support can turn aspirations into reality.

1. How did you find out about the Leadership Scholarship Program?

I first learned about the Sofema Leadership Scholarship Program through the news section of the Sofema website while I was already pursuing my Part-66 modules. Coming across the scholarship at that moment felt timely, as it gave me the opportunity to strengthen not only my technical knowledge but also my leadership and management skills - both essential for my long-term career in aviation.

2. What motivated you to apply for the scholarship?
 

My lifelong passion has been aviation. Even though my career path first took me through computer systems engineering, Epson technical work, and entrepreneurship in the automotive industry, my dream of becoming an Aeronautical Services Engineer never left me. The scholarship represented a chance to take a meaningful step forward, proving that with determination, resilience, and the right support, I can achieve my dream.

3. What were the most valuable lessons or skills you gained through the program?

The program showed me that I am just a step away from achieving my dream in aviation. It reinforced that with passion, resilience, and determination, I can overcome challenges and stay on course. Beyond the technical knowledge, the scholarship gave me greater confidence, leadership insight, and the belief that I truly belong in this industry.
 

4. How has the scholarship influenced your confidence, mindset, or career opportunities?

The scholarship has boosted my confidence to 100%. I now believe that any aviation door I knock on for practical ground training will open. It has given me a solid stepping stone - I am no longer starting empty, but with real knowledge and direction. I know exactly where I belong and where I’m heading. My passion has been reignited, and I am determined to return and share my success once I advance to the practical stage.
 
5. What did you enjoy most about learning through Sofema Online?
 
I enjoyed how motivating and inspiring the learning process was. The Part-66 Modules 9 and 10 in particular made me feel like, “this is it - I am truly on the path to my aviation dream.” These modules were highly technical and gave me a deep sense of being part of the aviation world already. I often found myself looking forward to each new section of Module 9 because it brought me closer to the reality of becoming an Aeronautical Service Engineer. The structure of the course kept me engaged, motivated, and hungry to learn more.
